Bumble's New Campaign with Serena Williams
Hello, 2019!
We are kicking off the year with this piece of news: Dating app Bumble is launching a year-long campaign with Serena Williams starting this upcoming Super Bowl. "The Ball is in Her Court" campaign is centered around the message of women's empowerment— the idea behind Bumble in which women initiate the conversation.
"Society has taught us as women to kind of sit back and not necessarily be the first one to speak up. We want to take that and flip the story," said Williams, who helped create the campaign alongside other women in the company. "We are letting people know we are not afraid. We no longer want to cower. We want to stand up."
While Bumble did not comment on whether there will be a TV commercial during the Super Bowl, the campaign will be featured across various platforms. Williams, who will serve as the company's global advisor, said the Super Bowl was "a great opportunity for women's voices to be heard louder."
As more people are starting to understand the importance of equality through the #MeToo movement, Bumble hopes to spread its message that women can make the first move in all aspects of their lives through this new campaign with Williams.
