About University of Richmond AMA

University of Richmond's American Marketing Association Chapter is a student-run organization that serves as a forum to connect its members with marketing professionals in Richmond and across the map. Day-to-day activity is hands-on, putting marketing concepts into practice through workshops and presentations.

Here are some events we've had in the past:

  • Creative resume workshop

  • LinkedIn workshop

  • Photoshop workshop

  • Speaker event with the CEO of Richmond ad agency, West Cary Group

... and many more!

In 2019, our members created social media marketing plans for local businesses Jacob's Chance and Hacked Hair Salon. They were able to present these plans directly to representatives of these businesses in competition for an internship.

In 2018, our members created marketing strategies for Hindt, a shopping app where users can share their wish lists with their friends and family. We presented our marketing plans to the CEO and founder, Lucy Danziger, and one of the winning team members ended up becoming the campus ambassador for the brand. Check out the article picked up by our university for a full story!
