Airline Meets Fitness: Delta x Equinox
Anyone who has been on a long flight knows the exhaustion felt upon arrival. To combat this experience, Delta Airlines teamed up with Equinox Fitness Clubs to launch "Sweatlag," a workout class designed to beat jet lag. The exercises, intended to boost your energy and reduce stiffness after long travels, complement the jet-lag-fighting features of Delta's new A350 aircraft, which includes panoramic windows, advanced blue LED lighting, and better air quality.
The Sweatlag classes can be experienced by recent travelers, Delta SkyMiles members, and club members exclusively this summer at three Los Angeles locations. The workout is also available online on Equinox's digital platform, Furthermore, which additionally features tips on food, exercise, and sleep during flights.
"Angelenos are some of the most wellness-conscious people in the world, " said Ranjan Goswami, Delta's Vice President — Los Angeles and Sales, West. "We're proud to partner with Equinox to continue giving our LA customers unique experiences that transform their travel on the plane and off."
To promote the partnership, Lamar Advertising collaborated with Wieden + Kennedy, Clear Channel, and other out-of-home companies to launch a digital billboard campaign on June 28th, placing 10 billboards around the LAX area. The billboard's content is in sync with Delta's real-time flight data, using technology from FlightAware; it displays passengers' flight numbers, cities of originations, and messages encouraging customers to sweat off their jet lag at Equinox.
“In leveraging real-time data that will inform the creative seen on the billboards, we will be able to engage specific passengers as they depart LAX in a highly effective and memorable way," said Ian Dallimore, director of digital innovation and sales strategy for Lamar. "We are excited about the opportunity to work in conjunction with Delta, Equinox and our agency partners to bring a truly dynamic out of home campaign to life."
